Due to its rustic ambience and its and regional homestyle cuisine, the former abbey smithy next to our estate has long before been one of the most popular getaway destinations around Grimma.

Our History
Today, only the old masonry of the central building bear testimony to the once stately equipped Cistercian Abbey Marienthron in Nimbschen, which outlasted time in a small park of huge beeches and oaks. The fact that this place by the side of the river Mulde is still renown today is owed to its unique history. This is the place where Katharina von Bora once led the life of a Cistercian nun.
